Reading Recovery is a literacy intervention for 5 - 6 year olds who find reading and writing challenging.
The programme was developed in New Zealand 35 years ago, and has been adopted around the world. Over the last 8 years, confidence in Reading Recovery (RR) has been in decline.
S&O were asked to partner with RR management and diagnose the root causes, develop a plan to reverse the decline and future proof the programme.
The analysis revealed issues with communication, intervention delivery and how performance was being tracked.
Much of our work is confidential. We can share how we transformed their website. We also developed a new data analysis tool that has helped management stabilise operations.
S&O have now been tasked with evolving an AI based solution to help teachers give better literacy diagnosis, and spend more time effectively helping improve literacy.
